Viewing performance by country

Written by Raj

The All Countries view shows Core Web Vitals broken down by visitor location, helping you understand how your store performs for customers around the world.

What the page shows

A sortable, paginated table listing every country that sent traffic during your selected time period. For each country, you'll see:

Column

Understanding geographic variation

Performance varies by country for several reasons:

Network infrastructure Internet speeds and reliability differ significantly between regions. Visitors in areas with slower connections will experience longer load times.

Distance from CDN servers Shopify uses a global CDN, but visitors farther from edge servers may have slightly higher TTFB and LCP.

Device distribution Some regions have higher proportions of older or lower-powered devices, which can affect INP scores.

Third-party services If you use third-party scripts hosted in specific regions, visitors far from those servers may experience delays.

What you can and can't control

Things you can't control on Shopify:

  • CDN server locations

  • Server response times by region

  • Network infrastructure in different countries

Things you can influence:

  • Third-party scripts that load from specific regions

  • Image sizes (smaller images load faster on slow connections)

  • JavaScript complexity (affects INP on slower devices)

Using this data

Understanding your audience

Use this view to see where your visitors come from and how they experience your store. If most of your traffic comes from a specific region, prioritize that region's performance.

Identifying outliers

If one country shows significantly worse performance than others:

  1. Check if it's a high-traffic country (worth investigating) or low-traffic (may be statistical noise)

  2. Look at which specific metric is poor

  3. Consider whether third-party scripts or apps might be hosted far from that region

Setting realistic expectations

Some geographic variation is normal. A visitor in a remote area with slow internet will have worse metrics than someone on fiber in a major city. Focus on:

  • Ensuring your highest-traffic countries have Good ratings

  • Avoiding Poor ratings in any significant market

  • Keeping overall trends stable or improving

Sorting the table

Click any column header to sort. Common strategies:

  • Sort by Page views (descending): See your biggest markets first

  • Sort by LCP (descending): Find countries with the slowest load times

  • Sort by Country: Alphabetical for easy lookup
