Why is there a subscription charge after uninstalling InstaIndex
You may sometimes see a subscription charge on your Shopify invoice even after uninstalling InstaIndex. This usually happens because of how Shopify handles app billing and invoice timing.
Why this happens
Shopify app subscriptions and Shopify store invoices follow different billing timelines. When a subscription renews, the charge is created immediately, but it may appear on your Shopify invoice several days or weeks later.
If you uninstall the app after the subscription renews but before the invoice is issued, the charge may still appear on your next invoice.
Here’s a simple example to illustrate how this works:
• Dec 8 : You activate a paid plan for InstaIndex (billing period: Dec 8 – Jan 7).
• Jan 7 : The subscription renews for the next billing cycle (Jan 7 – Feb 6).
• March 19 : You uninstall the InstaIndex app.
• March 25 : Your Shopify invoice arrives and shows the renewal charge till Apr 8.
Even though the app was already uninstalled, the charge appears because the renewal occurred before the uninstall date.
Note : Uninstalling the app immediately cancels future subscription renewals. However, any charges created before the uninstall may still appear on your next Shopify invoice.
What if you didn’t use the full billing period
Shopify handles all app billing and adds these charges to your regular store invoice. If you believe you were charged for time you didn’t use, feel free to contact our support team. We’re happy to review the charge and help with a refund for unused days.
