Frequently asked questions about IndexNow

Written by Abhishek

How can I verify URLs submitted by InstaIndex in search engines?

You can verify URLs submitted by InstaIndex by reviewing the submission logs within the app or checking your search engine’s webmaster tools. For example, in Bing Webmaster Tools, log in, select your site, and open the IndexNow section to view submitted URLs. Note that newly submitted URLs may take 24–48 hours to appear; if they do not, check your key status in InstaIndex or contact support.

Will all existing URLs be submitted after installation?

No. InstaIndex submits only new or updated URLs. Existing pages should be discovered through your sitemap.

I made changes but I don’t see any submissions. What should I do?

Product and collection updates are sent in real time, while pages and blogs are sent in batches. If needed, visit the app settings to refresh the connection or contact support.

Do I still need a sitemap?

Yes. Sitemaps help search engines discover all pages, while InstaIndex handles real-time updates and it works alongside sitemaps and Search Console; it does not replace them.

What happens if the same URL is submitted again?

InstaIndex automatically deduplicates submissions. If the same set of URLs is submitted again within 5 minutes — whether through automatic or manual submission — the duplicate request is skipped. This prevents unnecessary notifications to search engines and helps protect your site from being flagged for excessive submissions. You can verify this in your submission logs, where deduplicated submissions won't appear as separate entries.
